Is your Webflow CMS site pushing the limits?

The Webflow CMS is very useful, but it has strict limits that designers often don't know how to plan around.

The CMS also does not have "view" capabilities, or a querying language like SQL, which means you need to plan your structure in advance in order to get the data you need in the places you need it.

About this course

This guide walks through a simple Webflow CMS design project using IMDB as a model, where we want to display;

  • Movies, e.g. Thor, Love & Thunder
  • People, e.g. Chris Hemsworth
  • Roles, e.g. Thor
  • Credits, which combines these into useful aggregates, e.g. Chris Hemsworth, Cast as Thor in "Thor, Love & Thunder"

This guide will walk through the requirements, the views we want, and the decisions made in the CMS Collections and References.
