Occasionally in the forums, someone will post that they're having difficult loading the Webflow designer. Everything els
The designer is a very large, complex React app. If your system configuration is broken or corrupted, this can cause problems for you.
Process
First, sanity-check and make sure it's just you. The internet is complex- Cloudflare, AWS, or Webflow could be having an outage. To determine that, check-
- Webflow's status page - https://status.webflow.com/
- The Webflow forum - https://community.webflow.com/
You'll know immediately if others are having issues.
If it's just you-
These are the most likely things that can break websites-
- Browser extension. You have a chrome or browser extension conflicting and break things. Ad blockers are one of the most aggressive at breaking apps, so disable those first. Try logging in using incognito mode and see if you have the same problem, or disable all of your extensions.
- Corrupted browser cache. Purge your browser cache, try again.
- Antivirus, these sometimes modify data streaming from servers and break sites. Modern AV's also use often VPNs.
- VPN. If you're using one, switch it off and try again.
- Router- routers can cache, and VPN also. Try turning it off and on. Check the settings, etc. If you're on a laptop, take it to a different network and see if it changes things.
✅ Tips. When you look through the list, consider anything you've changed lately- new browser extensions, new router, new VPN setup, new AV configuration. Check those first.
